Frequently asked question

What is the proper attire?

Please wear workout clothes and bare feet or toe socks if you prefer. Please SILENCE your phone before class.

What do I need to bring?

A yoga mat is preferred but not required, towel and water.

What are CARs?

CARs means Controlled Articular Rotations or in simpler terms, Joint Circles. This means you put each joint (think shoulder or hip) through an end range of motion in a circular pattern.

What to expect?

Kinstretch Class is 75-Minutes. In class Johnny adjusts and works within each persons limitations. Come prepared to work, learn and transform your body. We work on maximum ranges of motion in each joint (think hips, shoulders, spine) and breathing.

How often should I do this?

As much as you want! Every class is different and focuses training multiple areas on the body. You can book an assessment to create a custom plan. We definitely recommend 2+ days a week.

What if I have an injury?

Contact Johnny prior to class if you have an injury or area that is causing you pain. In some cases we can modify as needed. However, we never want to force our bodies though pain and injury. Instead we can connect you with the right health professional to help you heal so you can get to class.

Is there any reason not to take the class?

No unless you have a serious injury, this is for everyone. Everyone can benefit with more range of motion even those that have high ROM.

Will I get sore?

Soreness depends on how much effort you put into the class along with your daily activity\ level and capacity. You dictate the amount of exertion you provide, which will increase the possibility of soreness. Soreness is okay and movement is the best form of anti-inflammation.

Is this like yoga or other practices?

No, unlike yoga where you hold long stretches (poses) or flow though poses, we provide a loading aspect through isometric contractions. Kinstretch demands maximum efforts during portions of class.
